China Trade Promotion Association (CCPIT) will initiate consultation and agency work on product testing and certification to help SMEs cope with technical barriers to trade in exports.
According to official data, 34.1% of China's export enterprises were affected by technical barriers to trade in 2016, and the direct loss of export trade was nearly $50 billion. Among them, mechanical and electrical, mineral metals, wood, paper, textile shoes and hats are most affected. Regionally, products exported to Europe and the United States are most affected by technical barriers.
According to reports, the forthcoming product testing and certification consulting agency mainly covers mechanical and electronic products, textile and garment products, food and medicine products. These are the main export forces of China.
